Your god called. He/she commands that you attend Phare Play Productions' Spring Shorts. While avoiding the vengeful wrath of your god, take a look at how one's beliefs color a sphere of circumstances ranging from worship to drinking games, from runaways to the Home Shopping Network. You'll find that laugh-out-loud comedy, romance, and thought provoking pieces abound. This collection of one acts will leave you laughing, crying and maybe even provoke your core beliefs. Plus, you won't get struck down by lightning if you attend. Oh, and your god says to bring friends.
By Henrik Ibsen - Directed by Kymm ZuckertIn Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts, the sins of the past are visited upon the innocents of the present. Many years ago, Mrs. Helen Alving accepted her pastor's advice and stayed with her husband despite his many infidelities. Ten years after Alving's death, she is to dedicate an orphanage in his memory. Her son Oswald, kept ignorant of his father's sins, returns home for the ceremony. Oswald's attraction to the housemaid conjures up the ghost of his parents' unhappy marriage; this ill-starred romance, along with Oswald's increasing illness, connected somehow with his father's perfidy, force Mrs. Alving to confront her own ghosts.

By Norm Foster - Directed by Christine VinhDuring the course of one day in the city, in six different offices, the lives of a chaotic group of characters unfold like a spider's web. Between the domineering mother, the hen-pecked father, a neurotic figure skater, a sex-starved therapist, a down and out film director, a one armed man and an overweight athlete in need of a little help, their stories and others combine to create a dizzying little world that would've been visible in Alice's looking glass. You might need a shiny new, leather bound, week-at-a-glance to keep it all straight.
By Tom Stoppard - Directed by Blake Bradford & Kymm Zuckert
Love. Sex. Pigeons.
So goes the chemistry of life in Tom Stoppard's romantic comedy Arcadia. Separated by two centuries, the child genius Thomasina Coverly plots mathematical gold as her tutor Septimus Hodge introduces the household to carnal knowledge, all while two contemporary historians spar over a potential Lord Byron connection. Join Phare Play Productions as we unfurl Stoppard's Tony Award nominated classic of love and science.

Phare Play's bastard stepchild has a twisted side. It's emerged from a dark, deviant hiding place to entertain you and your friends for two evenings of raunch, fun, and a variety of sordid sketches. Come for the cold beer (seriously - you get a beer with your ticket), stay for the indelible scar we'll inflict on your virgin eyes and ears (the only parts left). Sketches include "Ace of the ACE," "Crying Stripper," "Massacre on Sensibility," and "Grandma F**ker."
Phare Play's Mind Bleach Sketch... it'll only hurt for a moment..

Do you know the infamous Jen Spragg?
You might remember her from such Who Wears Short Shorts classics like 'Don't Eat the Neighbors', 'The Chip Hydeberger Show' and 'Good Bye Pork Pie Hat'.
Do you want to get inside her crazy mind and tiptoe around the nutty little tribbles that swill around and coagulate into comedy?

By Federico Garcia Lorca - Directed by Kymm Zuckert
Rounding out the season is a new adaptation of Lorca's final play about a tyrant mother and her five daughters.
